Our client, in higher education, is in need of a Project Manager with experience handling large complex IT projects at the enterprise level (software implementation and/or integrations) for a 2-year contract.

Responsibilities

 

  • Proactive Task Management – Consistently assigns and tracks project tasks, ensuring clear ownership and accountability without reminders.
  • Strong Communication – Provides timely, professional, and concise updates to leadership, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Collaboration & Relationship-Building – Builds positive working relationships with cross-functional teams, fostering trust and cooperation.
  • Organizational Awareness – Understands how projects align with broader institutional priorities and ensures proper coordination with other initiatives.
  • Meeting Management – Ensures agendas, notes, and follow-ups are documented and shared; proactively requests information (notes, recordings, updates) from external partners when needed.
  • Initiative & Independence – Anticipates needs, takes ownership of responsibilities, and follows through without waiting for direction on routine expectations.
  • Professionalism – Represents College Computing and the PMO with a high degree of credibility, demonstrating confidence and reliability in all interactions.
  • Resource Alignment – Identifies and coordinates the appropriate participants for meetings and deliverables, ensuring the correct expertise is engaged.
  • Strong Technical Project Management Background – Comfortable managing projects with significant technical components (e.g., SSO integrations, data exchanges, system integrations), with the ability to understand scope, effort, and dependencies at a technical level.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability – Able to navigate the ever-changing higher education landscape, adjusting to shifting priorities and last-minute changes in deadlines. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (required)
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification (preferred)
  • Agile/Scrum certification or experience (a plus)
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience managing large-scale, enterprise-level IT projects
  • Proven track record of successful software implementations and/or system integrations
  • Experience working in or with higher education institutions (preferred)
