Our Syracuse law firm client has been representing businesses and individuals in Central New York for over 100 years.  Offering a diverse variety of practice areas, their office is in the heart of downtown Syracuse near the courthouse, and many places of interest within walking distance. 

 

We're looking for a Trust and Estates Associate Attorney who has 3-5 years estate practice and/or litigation experience to represent clients in legal proceedings, draw up legal documents and advise clients on legal transactions.

This position can work on a hybrid schedule but must be in office 2-3 days per week.

 

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
  • Advise clients on business and legal transactions
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school
  • Admission in New York(or ability to waive in) required, additional Admission in Federal preferred
  • Familiarity with Zoom, MS Teams, and other video conferencing platforms.
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • High level organization skills for prioritizing workload
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb, process and understand, new information rapidly
  • Must exhibit conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility
  • Excellent research skills and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities
  • Must maintain high standards of performance
  • Must have experience with online filing and research sites
