Overview

Our client in Rhode Island, is searching for a Network Engineer I, who will work under general direction of client. Cisco certification a plus.  This is a 3-month contract, working 3 days onsite per week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Scope:

A network administrator manages an organization's computer networks and systems to ensure they are secure, efficient, and meet business needs
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Installing and configuring
    Installing and integrating new hardware and applications, and configuring software and system updates
     
  • Monitoring
    Continually monitoring networks for malfunctions, unresponsive programs, and necessary updates to ensure optimal performance and security
     
  • Troubleshooting
    Analyzing and resolving hardware and software problems, and developing solutions to network issues
     
  • Upgrading
    Upgrading network infrastructure, including both hardware and software components
     
  • Supporting
    Supporting and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links
     
  • Training
    Providing end user training where required
     
  • Researching
    Conducting research on network products, services, protocols, and standards 
     
     

Qualifications

Employment Standards

 

Ability To:

Deliver technical support: Identify, troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical computer-related problems; make the distinction between Level One through Level Three end-user problems; identify, evaluate and solve end-user network problems

Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure and hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve network issues effectively.

 

Knowledge Of:

CISCO networking

 

Certification:

Preferred:  CCNA

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.  Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
