    The ideal person will possess a minimum 15 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources and a proven record of effective HR leadership, preferably in a technology-related environment. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high level of business acumen, creativity and influence.

    Electronic Systems, Inc., has been the Mid-Atlantic’s fastest growing, technology provider for decades.  You will become a member of the Senor Leadership team after serving as a trusted adviser in the areas of employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness and staffing levels.

    We’re seeking an entrepreneurial spirit, with an exceptional ability to resolve complex issues throughout our 9 locations employing over 400 employees. This role is located at our headquarters in Virginia Beach. Weekly travel to our Richmond office is required along with periodic travel to northern Virginia and the Roanoke area.  Unique opportunity to initially be mentored  under our current leader for 2 months.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Serve as an expert resource to managers and employees in all facets of Human Resources and broader business issues. Provide concrete, timely and value-added generalist services to include organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, succession, and development planning.
    • Help promote our company values, monitor and resolve work issues, and enhance leadership effectiveness that leads to the successful achievement of business goals and employee satisfaction.
    • Lead strategy on compensation, recruitment, L&D, and other key business areas.
    • Possess a keen understanding of the strategy of the business with the ability to counsel leaders in order to help ensure the growth of the business and our people.
    • Assess and determine business needs in the areas of organization design, staffing, performance management, succession planning, development planning, and communications.
    • Identify, evaluate and drive forward key training and development courses that hone strong talent in leadership. Further develop additional opportunities for all staff that aligns with evolving business needs and challenges in a competitive talent landscape.
    • Grow and develop a long-tenured HR team of seven HR and Payroll professionals.
    • Predict and analyze situations to resolve complex HR challenges that arise. Advise senior leadership with actionable items to mitigate issues and concerns to always protect the company.
    • Facilitate meetings and present HR information to appropriate audiences.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
    • Implement recommendations to drive effectiveness and overall best practices in HR.The Vice President, Human Resources, must have fifteen years of progressive experience in Human Resources management, with at least five years as a strategic business partner and trusted adviser to senior executives and staff. 

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • The Vice President, Human Resources, should have a BS/BA in HR or a related discipline. An MS/MA in a related field or HR management certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
    • A proven record of innovative HR management, preferably in a technology-related or a sales-oriented environment.
    • An entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership and coaching skills coupled with an ability to lead by example
    • Excellent management practices, proven ability to anticipate internal organization issues, propose smart solutions, and represent both the senior leadership and the employee perspectives.
