  • Overview

    Our client, a rapidly growing producer of radiation protection products, is seeking to add a Desktop Support Technician to their IT team. This position will be a full time, 6-month contract to hire engagement offering a full benefit package (to include health, dental, and 401K). 

    The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for analyzing and resolving desktop, portable, printer, peripheral, hardware and software problems.


    • Install and configures PCs as well as setting up new hire workstations
    • Troubleshoot and resolve tickets pertaining to PCs, hardware and software, and printers in a timely fashion.
    • Set up and configure network printing devices
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, vendors and supervisors.
    • Develops expert understanding of PC hardware, software, internal software and associated technologies
    • Diagnoses/resolves end-user problems including recognition, isolation, research of software/hardware errors/features if required and problem resolution
    • Assist in maintaining the LAN/WAN infrastructure on a day-to-day basis
    • Participate in maintenance activities geared to ensuring the health and availability of infrastructure equipment
    • Organizes and maintains equipment inventory levels
    • Analyzes and evaluates PC hardware and software
    • Responsible for a broad set of desktop and related technologies including high-end copiers, scanners and printers
    • Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Provides support utilizing all available tools, including remote control technologies
    • All other duties as assigned

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • Ability to stand, crouch, walk, kneel, crawl, lay, bend, and perform simple and firm grasping functions with both left and right hands for 6 hours of the day.
    • Able to maintain professional demeanor under stress
    • Possess strong customer service, phone, and strong interpersonal skills
    • At least 2 years of experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer hardware, printers, configuration, software and operating systems.
    • Extensive experience with computers, multiple operating systems (including Windows XP and Windows 7), hardware diagnostic utilities, software deployment applications and remote support applications.
    • Experience with a variety of printers), including troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing

    Education: Preferred: Two / Four year college degree or degree from Vocational Institute in related field of industry.



    Preferred: MCITP, Network +, Win 7, A+, MCP, HP or Dell ASP
