Overview

The professional services engineer is key to the success of the Professional Services Team. You will be responsible for performing all assigned duties as a member of a project team, individual consultant or otherwise indicated by the Professional Services Director and/or Project Manager. You will work in concert with department to deliver advanced business and technology consulting advice to customers, sales team and management in the area of your expertise. Additionally, as a member of the Professional Services team, you are expected to perform at a high level, provide mentoring to junior team members, and take on additional responsibility as interim project leaders, etc.

Responsibilities

 

ACHIEVE AND MAINTAIN HIGH LEVEL CERTIFICATIONS

  • Preferably carry a vendor designation such as CCNP/VCAP/MCSE or other vendor’s senior certification in addition to the following:
  • Must have and maintain vendor certifications in at least one area – HPE, VEEAM, Cisco, VMWare, Aruba, or similar.
  • Maintain at least one additional secondary engineer vendor partner certification, i.e., Watchguard, Symantec, Meraki, Aruba, or Microsoft

 

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION – INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL

  • Maintains high customer satisfaction levels internally and externally.
  • Work with others on Professional Services team to increase awareness of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicates with customer and team managers and leaders on all open issues without being prompted. 

 

KEY FUNCTIONS AND ROLES

 

  • Assists management by providing mentoring and leadership to junior personnel.
  • Travel up to 50%, to customer sites with in the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Develop and deliver customer focused technology presentations when requested.
  • Provide insight to management on new and innovative solutions.
  • Work as a team member on assigned projects to complete tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver advanced business and technology consulting advice to customers, sales team and management in area of expertise.
  • Adhere to all company and department policies and procedures.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management and leadership in order to improve processes.
  • Seek greater challenges and opportunities for advancement.

 

DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONAL SKILLS

  • Maintain a technical grasp of all technologies offered by Professional Services.
  • Seek ways to mentor junior personnel in areas of expertise.
  • Strive to improve technical and professional skills through self-study.
  • Seek ESI sponsored education and training opportunities.
  • Gain access to partner specific training quarterly
  • Subscribe to and follow industry related periodicals in order to maintain current awareness of industry trends.
