  • Overview

    This is an incoming position into the Print Technology Solutions group, an advanced technology group of ESI’s Document Technology Division. This position is primarily a support role, providing support services to resolve network or software issues. This includes providing hardware installation services that require an escalated skillset, providing enhanced MFD functionality setup and troubleshooting, installing production technologies and growing toward the capabilities of the Solutions Engineer.

    Responsibilities

    PERFORMANCE SKILLS

    • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical personnel
    • Use Company tools to update service requests, MS Office Products (Word, Excel) and related tools to accomplish objectives
    • Possess and demonstrate good organizational skills including time management skills
    • Possess good listening skills
    • Work and function efficiently either individually or in a team oriented environment
    • Follow safety procedures
    • Assist in planning and coordination of onsite efforts for projects
    • Work independently with customer and follow ESI empowerment questions
    • Demonstrate proper operation and functionality of equipment and software to customer
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Follow instructions from customer, account manager, service management or co-worker

     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform Support Services which typically repair or reinstate a solution that was operating previously and for any reason stopped working or began providing limited functionality
    • Meet the requirements of the Electronic Systems Fleet Safety program
    • Possess and maintain reliable transportation and possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs
    • Ability to drive up to 6 hours of the day
    • Ability to stand, crouch, walk, kneel, crawl, lay, bend, and perform simple and firm grasping functions with both left and right hands for 6 hours of the day
    • Split time as a remote helpdesk technician when volume requires, this will be a 50% field/ 50% helpdesk positon with an understanding that during low volume times there will be more remote helpdesk demand on the positon.
    • Occasionally be on call 24 hours a day for various contracts and commitments (as applicable)
    • Able to maintain professional demeanor under stress
    • Possess strong interpersonal skills
    • Possess strong customer service skills
    • Provide regular updates of service calls upon completion or incompletion via Remote Tech

    Report to and be prepared to begin work promptly at 8:00 a.m., work a minimum 8 hour day, with a 1 hour lunch, and continue work until 5:00 p.m. These hours may shift as customer or work load demands and should be expected to start prior to 8:00 a.m. and continue past 5:00 p.m. (i.e. arrive at customer site at 8:00 a.m. and leave customer site at 5:00 p.m.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION

    Required:   High School Diploma or GED

    Preferred:  AA, BA or 2 year / 4 year degree from higher education or related trade school

     

    EXPERIENCE

    Required:   1-3 years printer / MFD Field Service, computer hardware, software and/or client side networking

                     experience

    Preferred:  3-5 years printer / MFD Field Service, computer hardware, software and client networking

                     experience.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS

    Required:   A+ Certification, Network +, or equivalent

    Preferred:  MCSA (Desktop)

    KNOWLEDGE

    • MFD or print technology equipment knowledge
    • Microsoft Desktop OS & Application knowledge, (devices, drivers, etc.) MCSA or equivalent
    • Network Routing / Switching (working knowledge)

    • Nuance Autostore
    • Mobile Device Printing
    • MFD Cost Recovery & Authentication
    • ID Media (Magstripe, Proximity, Key FOB, etc.)
    • Fiery and/or Freeflow Controller Technology
